Kix Brooks to headline Derby Eve Jam

LOUISVILLE– Kix Brooks, of Brooks & Dunn fame, will close out the 2013 Kentucky Derby Festival at the Derby Eve Jam in Louisville’s Waterfront Park.

The concert, with special guest Greg Bates, will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville.

Brooks will also perform later that night at the Barnstable Brown Gala, where he will join country music’s elite, legendary Motown and rock star chart toppers.

“Kix puts on an awesome show and we’re thrilled to have him for our 25th Anniversary Barnstable Brown Gala,” said Patricia Barnstable Brown in a press release.

Brooks is half of the highest selling duo in the history of country music, cutting his teeth with artists like Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Highway 101, before teaming up with Ronnie Dunn in 1990.

Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront opens on Thursday, April 25, and will run through Friday, May 3. It will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Admission to Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville is a 2013 Pegasus Pin.

Admission to the Derby Eve concert is also a 2013 Pegasus Pin. Military personnel with a valid ID will receive free admission to the venue from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 97.5 WAMZ is a contributing sponsor of the event.
