2013 Waterfront Wednesday Season kicks off with Ra Ra Riot

WFPK in Louisville has announced the dates for this year’s Waterfront Wednesday Concerts and the performers for its first show.

Ra Ra Riot, the Syracuse, New York-based indie-pop group will headline the first Waterfront Wednesday show of the season on April 24.

The band is touring in support of its most recent release, “Beta Love.” The album is the group’s third full-length album and is the first since the departure of cellist, Alexandra Lawn. It also marks a departure in style for Ra Ra Riot, from chamber pop-rock to a more synth-pop driven sound.

Along with Ra Ra Riot, the April show will feature Leagues and Louisville-based A Lion Named Roar.bg

The remaining concerts in the Waterfront Wednesday series will take place on the last Wednesday of every month through September. Those dates for the 2013 season are April 24, May 29, June 26, July 31, August 28 and September 25.

All of the concerts will be held on the Big Four Lawn, just west of the Big Four Bridge. The lawn will open at 5 p.m. and music is set to begin at 6 p.m.

Future acts will be announced as the concert dates approach.
