Forecastle X announces initial lineup

LOUISVILLE– My Morning Jacket, Bassnectar and Wilco will headline the 10th anniversary Forecastle Festival.

Forecastle Festival organizers and AC Entertainment announced the initial lineup for the three-day festival that will take place July 13-15 in Waterfront Park late Wednesday morning. The final lineup will total more than 70 bands on five stages, according to the press release. Among the bands already confirmed are: Girl Talk, Andrew Bird, Sleigh Bells, Neko Case, Beach House, The Head and the Heart and Dr. Dog.

As previously announced, Saturday headliners My Morning Jacket are collaborating with the producers on the sights, sounds and experiences of the entire festival weekend. “We are super duper excited to announce and be a part of the spectacular line up for the 10th anniversary of Forecastle in our hometown,” said My Morning Jacket Lead Singer Jim James, in the release. “Be on the lookout for further announcements and some special surprises. It’s gonna be a sweet time…Christmas in July!”

Additional artists, as well as art installations, environmental and sustainability activities, outdoor extreme sports park, festival partners, culinary options and other activities will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the release. Also yet to be announced are details for the separately ticketed, late night after parties, including those on the historical Belle of Louisville steamboat.
